Meet Rebecca Benjamin: Leadership Coaching and Nonprofit Consulting Are Now Available at Clarity
An organization’s health depends on more than its plans, systems, and financial position. It also depends on the people carrying the responsibility of leading it.
That’s why we’re excited to welcome Rebecca Benjamin to Clarity as our Director of Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness. Through leadership coaching and project-based organizational advising, Rebecca will help leaders and organizations navigate complexity, continue growing, and build stronger foundations for the future.
Rebecca brings 20 years of experience in facilitation, team development, leadership development, and nonprofit leadership. Her background spans fundraising, governance, financial oversight, succession planning, and organizational growth, along with a deep understanding of the human dynamics that influence how organizations function.
Her work is grounded in a simple belief: leaders do their best work when they have a trusted place to think, reflect, and grow.
Leadership is stronger with perspective
Leadership doesn’t require knowing how to handle every situation on your own. Sometimes the most useful next step is having a thoughtful, confidential place to talk through what is happening.
What stands out most about Rebecca is her ability to understand the human side of leadership. She listens carefully, recognizes the dynamics beneath an organizational challenge, and creates space for leaders to speak honestly about situations that may be difficult to discuss with a board, team, or colleague.
Rebecca believes leaders often already know more than they realize. Her role is not to arrive with a prescribed answer. Coaching can help leaders slow things down, recognize patterns, prepare for important conversations, and consider how their next steps may affect their team and organization. It can also uncover what may be standing in the way of acting on their instincts, then provide the tools and support to build a clear path forward.
Coaching for leaders at every stage
Leadership coaching is not only for moments when something has gone wrong. Rebecca works with emerging leaders, experienced leaders, and highly successful leaders who want to continue developing their skills and approach.
What they share is a deep commitment to their work and a desire to lead more intentionally and effectively, with less stress and better outcomes.
Coaching looks different for every leader. Some come with a specific situation they need to work through. Others want an ongoing place to reflect on their leadership, notice patterns, ask questions, and stay grounded as their organization evolves.
Rebecca offers two ways to work together:
Focused leadership coaching provides short-term support around a particular challenge, transition, relationship, or area of growth.
Ongoing leadership coaching gives leaders a consistent, confidential space to reflect, plan, and continue developing over time.
Both are designed for leaders who are curious, open to reflection, and committed to strengthening their leadership and their organizations.
Hands-on support for organizational needs
When an organization needs more direct support, Rebecca can also take a hands-on role through project-based organizational advising.
She helps clients assess specific needs and develop tools, structures, or strategies to address them. This may include evaluating organizational structure, strengthening team or board-staff relationships, supporting governance, or helping boards and executive directors better understand how their roles work together.
This work draws on Rebecca’s experience leading organizations from the inside. She understands both the operational realities of leadership and the relational work involved in building trust, communicating through change, and bringing people together.
Preparing organizations for leadership transitions
Succession planning is one area Rebecca is especially passionate about.
As seasoned leaders retire, staff members step into new roles, and boards prepare to hire new executive directors, organizations need to begin planning well before a transition occurs. Waiting until a departure is imminent can place unnecessary pressure on the board, team, and incoming leader.
By strengthening internal systems, clarifying roles, and developing the experience already present within the team, organizations can build a more stable foundation for change. This helps ensure that a new leader enters an organization prepared to welcome and support them rather than depending on them to immediately carry everything.
Supporting the people and systems behind healthy organizations
Rebecca’s arrival is a natural extension of Clarity’s approach to organizational health.
Healthy organizations need reliable financial information, effective systems, clear strategy and communications, and leaders who have the support they need to guide people through growth and change.
By pairing leadership coaching and organizational advising with Clarity’s financial management, strategic planning, operations, branding, and web design services, we can support both the people leading an organization and the systems surrounding them.
We’re thrilled to expand the ways Clarity can support leaders and organizations, and we’re so glad Rebecca is here.
Great leaders keep growing.
If you’re carrying a lot or working through something complex, coaching gives you the space to step back, gain perspective, and continue growing as the leader your organization needs.
